You were there, I was there. In a place where candles did not light, wind corrupted their flames. Violence brought our lips to seal, to be sewn together to keep from speaking the foul language we had taught one another. Even with sewn lips, We smiled. Your hand fell into mine and my threaded lips pressed to yours, our trembling fingers steadied one another. We fought for our place among the strangers who claimed us. Despite finding sharp words and truthful eyes, they brought a blade. With their blade they struck us down, inevitably ripping us apart. We remained without those comforting words, the gentle embrace and anchor we gave one another. After we lost, distance drove between us. Strangers hands always wrapped around our eyes, refusing to let us see the other. Though, never did they know, seeing you with my eyes was not how I loved you. It was the memories. The silent moments, the way your hands felt compared to all others. Time fled away from us, We out grew the clean thread and found ourselves too tall for their hands to clasp about our eyes anymore. By the time we could see again, We had realized how far we'd drifted, how lost we'd become letting them lead our lives. This time. We brought blades. This time, We took the thread which bound our lips and brought together what they attempted to sever. Our worlds collided again, melding out of our memories and into the reality we were famished of.
