Thank you for your message to the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC).
Again, we are very sorry that you have endured so much emotional pain
and fear of physical injury because of the actions of a cyberstalker.
Cyberstalking is a terrifying and dangerous crime. We hope that soon
you can live again without the constant threat of harm.
The OVC Web site, http://www.ovc.gov, has information for victims of
crime, including information about cyberstalking. OVC has links to
different organizations that offer assistance to people being
harassed or stalked on the Internet. The following organizations may
be of service to you:
CyberAngels
http://www.cyberangels.org/
CyberAngels was founded in 1995 as the first cyber-neighborhood watch
and is one of the oldest in online safety education.
WiredSafety
http://wiredsafety.org/index.html
WiredSafety provides help, information and education to Internet and
mobile device users of all ages. They handle cases of cyberabuse
ranging from identity and credential theft, online fraud and
cyberstalking, to hacking and malicious code attacks.
All states receive Federal funds from OVC to help support local
victim assistance programs and compensation programs. There are
resources in your immediate area that offer services for
cyberstalking victims. Information on assistance in your local area
can be located on OVC's Web site at the following address:
http://www.ovc.gov/help/links.htm
In addition, you may be eligible for crime victim compensation
benefits, including reimbursement for medical services, mental health
counseling, lost wages, and other costs incurred as a result of the
crime. A listing of State compensation programs can be obtained on
OVC's Web site at: http://www.ovc.gov/help/progdir.htm
Another source of help is your local victim/witness assistance
program. You may contact the National Center for Victims of Crime at
800/FYI-CALL or the National Organization for Victim Assistance at
800/TRY-NOVA for a referral in your area.
Many victims of crime file a civil suit against their offender or a
third party to try to recover financial losses resulting from a
crime. This is different from a criminal case that the state
prosecutes to determine guilt. Further information can be obtained by
contacting the National Crime Victim Bar Association on the Internet
at: http://www.victimbar.org
We hope this information has been helpful to you. If you have any
additional questions, please contact the National Criminal Justice
Reference Service, OVC's Information Clearinghouse, at
1-800-851-3420.

I love the disclaimer at the end. They give you all these facts about stalking and tell you the affects and the dangers and give you a number...that it. None of the websites for cyberstalking online will help you if your child ends up getting stalked and murdered. They'll give you a number and when you are killed the number will be proof that you file a report.
