You love talking to your grand da, grand da with the hair of snow Tell you stories of the Dreamtime of the centuries ago How the magpie got her colours how the eagle soar so high Why the roo must keep on hopping? why the emu cannot fly. And the stories grand da tell you you'll tell your grandson one day Why the mopoke and the frogmouth from the sun's lamp hide away Why the wombat goes on digging why glow worm in darkness shines Why the parrot nest in tree hole, how echidna got her spines. Young and handsome dark skinned fellow you are happy and carefree And every day there's something different something new to learn and see Now it's Spring the birds are nesting and every day a new surprise And all you see is love and beauty through those innocent brown eyes
