Once upon a time as I was walking through a grassy meadow I saw a waterfall off in the distance.
And as I approached I saw a little Faerie next to the waterfall gently humming a song to herself.
But what was really cool about her was that she glowed with this brilliant radiance,
and it was like sunlight shinning through her very essence.
The funny thing is as I watched her hum this song the waterfall behind her became like living water.
The water was alive with words. Yes living words falling ever so softly sparkling shimmering liquid words.
And as I listened I realized that the waterfall was telling me a story.
And this is what it said for those who have an ear to hear it.
Radiant Beauty
with wings that can fly
the world ever blindly
passes her by.
They say,
You can not fly,
you can not soar,
in fact your radiant beauty
is simply a boar.
But Radiant Beauty
pays them no head
because she's Radiant Beauty
and she has no need.
For she is the Queen
of the Faerie Land
and these pitiful humans
would never understand.
For Radiant Beauty
was sent from above
with a calming spirit
through Meadows of love.
Inside the people were morning
for what they new not
for her radiance had left them
they simply forgot.
They sang,
How can we find you,
how can we know,
how can we see,
your radiant glow?
Is there a way
to find what we missed,
when Faerie enchantment
was crossed off our list?
The forests are dieing
we're cutting them down.
The children are crying
but we hear not a sound.
For the sound of the saw
has driven us mad.
We want what we want
and we don't care what we had.
Nothing i sacred,
nothing is true,
nothing is honored,
we haven't a clue.
We can no longer see,
and can no longer hear
though Radiant Beauty
is ever near.
So a Faerie council was formed
to decide our fate.
We must warn the humans
before it's too late.
Our people will live,
but there's will die
the balance has shifted
and we must tell them why.
Else we as the Guardians
will have nothing to guard
and no reason to venture
beyond our front yard.
But when nothing is ventured
nothing is gained
and we as the Guardians
Will not be to blamed.
And so what shall we do
they asked one another?
Well they couldn't decide
so they asked the great mother.
What shall we do
oh Radiant Queen?
The mortals are living
a destructive dream?
She said, we cannot inter fear
with the destruction of man
but to an awakening
we can lend a hand.
Rekindle the fires
and stories of old.
The tales of mystery.
They must all be told.
We do not care.
The mortals can die.
Oh Radiant Queen
please tell us why
we should send them our sacred
stories of old,
our hopes and our dreams,
and our wisdom's told.
she said, I know they've been cruel
to our sons and our daughters
and they've chopped and they've burned
the great wise old fathers.
But they are the apple
of The Great Fathers eye
and He loved them so much
that He was willing to die.
We as the Guardians
have watched and we've waited
watching the blindness
turn into hatred.
We watched as the hope
turned into sadness,
and we watched as the sadness
turned into madness.
But now it would seem
that the madness will break
into waves of destruction.
All is at steak!
We must bring to man
inspiration and dreams,
for they've lost all the wonderment
of vision it seems.
When all is black and white
all you see is the pen
and the paper and parchment
will never save men.
Well when the Radiant Queen
spoke these final words
every Faerie understood
and flew like the birds.
To bring enchantment and wonder
back to the earth,
and vision to children
for hope and rebirth.
And as I stood there in amazement
watching and listening to these final words falling gently down the waterfall.
Suddenly the living words burst into a million little Faeries,
and they all flew off in different directions.
And I thought to myself, Well maybe there is hope after all.
THE END
